Mother’s day
It is a day in everyone’s life to let them know that how lucky and grateful they are to have a figure like mother in their life and to know her importance and significance.
It was first originated in 1908 by Anna Jarvis a girl who organised a memorial for her mother, Ann Jarvis, a lady who looked after damaged and wounded soldiers of the American civil war. This event took place at the St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. The church currently holds the shrine of International mother’s day.
By 1911 almost all the US states started celebrating mother’s day and by 1910 it was declared as the holiday for the occasion in west Virginia.
Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president of United States of America declared it as a national holiday and signed a proclamation in year 1914. Now finally countries like India, Belgium, Bangladesh and many more also started celebrating mother’s day on the second Sunday of the month may.
Mother’s day is celebrated to express our care , love , and affection towards our mother and to tell her that how much you love her and are thankful to God that he created such a beautiful and pure soul.
